Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before reaching out. If your question is not here, ask it during your free 15-minute consultation.
There are no silly questions when it comes to starting therapy.
How much does therapy cost in the Oklahoma City area?
Sessions with me are $80, whether for individuals, couples, or families, and whether we meet in person or by telehealth. That is well below the typical $100 to $150 range for the OKC metro, because, as an LPC Candidate, I offer a reduced rate while completing supervised hours. Every new client also begins with a free 15-minute consultation.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, BlueCross BlueShield is accepted through Renew Counseling Center, which handles billing. If you have a different plan, you may still be able to use out-of-network benefits, and at $80 per session many clients simply pay out of pocket. We can talk through your options during your free consultation.
Do you offer telehealth in Oklahoma?
Yes. I provide secure video therapy sessions to clients anywhere in the state of Oklahoma, from Tulsa to Lawton to the Panhandle. Telehealth sessions are the same $80 rate as in-person sessions.
I work with anxiety, depression, trauma (including sexual trauma), adjusting to chronic illness, relationship struggles, and major life transitions such as career changes, moves, grief, and shifts in faith or identity. I see individual adults and teens, couples, and families. If what you are carrying is not on that list, reach out anyway, and if I am not the right fit I will help you find someone who is.
What do you help with?
A Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate is a counselor who has completed a master's degree in counseling and is licensed by the State of Oklahoma to practice under the supervision of a fully licensed counselor while completing the required clinical hours for independent licensure. I practice under the supervision of Olivia Clement, LPC, which means an experienced clinician regularly reviews my work. For you, this means quality care with built-in oversight, at a reduced rate.
What is an LPC Candidate?
Yes. LPC Candidates have completed the same graduate training as licensed counselors and provide the same therapy, with the added layer of regular supervision from a seasoned clinician. Many clients find this stage ideal: you receive attentive, well-supported care at a lower cost.
Is therapy with an LPC Candidate as effective as with a fully licensed therapist?
Yes. I work with couples and families using attachment-based and emotion-focused approaches, helping you understand the patterns that keep repeating and practice new ways of connecting. Couples and family sessions are the same $80 rate.
Do you see couples and families?
We spend about 15 minutes on the phone. You share a little about what is bringing you in, I explain how I work and answer your questions, and together we decide whether it feels like a good fit. There is no pressure and no obligation.
What happens during the free consultation?
The first session is mostly about getting to know you: what brought you in, what your life looks like, and what you hope will change. You do not need to prepare anything or share more than you are ready to. We move at your pace from day one.
What is the first session like?
Schedule your free 15-minute consultation. If we are a good fit, I will get you set up as a client at Renew Counseling Center, which handles your intake paperwork and billing, and we will find a regular time that works for you.
How do I get started?
I see clients in person at Renew Counseling Center, 6710 NW 43rd Street, Bethany, OK 73008, just west of Oklahoma City. In-person sessions are available on Thursdays and Fridays, and the office is an easy drive from Bethany, OKC, Warr Acres, Yukon, Mustang, Edmond, and surrounding communities.
